This prototype breaks down the transition from a high-stakes stealth insertion phase into a systemic ground combat loop. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the underlying architecture features a robust AI state machine that seamlessly drives NPC behaviors between Patrol, Alarm Run, and Combat states. To keep squad-based encounters tense but balanced, I engineered a Fire Token economy to manage attack pacing. This integrates directly with dynamic cover evaluation logic, allowing enemies to shift between Peeking, Reloading, and Ducking states in real time for highly readable encounters.
